~Thursday, June 16, 1932~

YarnKittymon: : ::it's the morning of Libby and Jack's wedding, and the former is already at the church, getting dressed in one of the back rooms, with a couple of her friends::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::is at the church too, although staying away from Libby so she doesn't have a fit at him seeing her; he didn't arrange any best man, although seems to have adopted Graeme as a best man-like figure::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::an older woman, looking distinctly tired, is walking down the road towards the church, leaning heavily on her husband's arm, and looking around the whole place with a distinct air of disapproval--directed only partially
YarnKittymon: towards Alex, who she's never really taken much of a liking to:: Fox, are you sure we should've come?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::Looks at Greta:: This will be fun don't you think?
Purple Freak373: AX: ::follows behind all dressed up with a very nice hair cut:: Wait up dad!
Quantum Catz: BM: ::is with Libby, in the back; smiles:: You look really pretty, Libby
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles shyly; she's already wearing the rather elegant white dress she'd bought for the wedding--not at all ruffly, something she could wear with a colored jacket to an evening party, in the future; she's wearing lipstick and blush, but definitely no eye make-up, in case she cries; softly:: Thank you. Did I just get a chill?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::helps Greta up the stairs to the Church:: There you go my darling...
YarnKittymon: GT: ::leans against Fox, frowning, and holding her hat with her free hand:: She hasn't told me much about the man she's marrying. I'm sure he's not even Catholic.
Purple Freak373: FX: Well as long as shes happy dear, besides I'm not even Catholic and you married me? heh.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::is standing quietly in the room with Libby and Becky, just watching but with a happy smile on her face::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::half-jokingly to Graeme:: Did you feel this nervous at your weddin, mate?
Purple Freak373: AX: ::follows behind making faces::
Maeve Owens: GW: ::smirks:: You'd better believe, but dont worry, its all worth it. ::smiles::
Quantum Catz: BM: ::chuckles:: You're about to get married - you must be awfully nervous...
YarnKittymon: LB: ::tugs on the ribbon of her rather large bouquet, re-adjusting the flowers, laughing slightly:: You girls have no idea...I can't believe it's happening...
Purple Freak373: AX: ::rushes ahead of his dad and goes look for Libby and Maeve:: Hey you guys! Where are you at?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::blinks, thinking she's heard something else she can't believe; looks at Maeve doubtfully::
Purple Freak373: AX: Hello? ::looks around::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::moves towards Alex:: Hey there
Purple Freak373: AX: Um hello, how are you, do you know where Maeve and Libby is?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::was just about to say something to Libby but stops when she thinks she hears something, she returns Libby's quizzical look:: That sounded like Alex...
Purple Freak373: FX: ::helps Greta find there seats.::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: We've both gone mad, then. ::though she looks around anxiously::
Quantum Catz: JK: Libby's gettin' ready with Maeve n Becky in the back - i'd wait till later if i was you ::smiles and holds out a hand:: I'm Jack
YarnKittymon: GT: ::glares at Fox:: If I've come all this way I should at least see my daughter, and the man she's marrying. ::pulls away from him, storming back out of the sanctuary::
Purple Freak373: FX: :sits down:: Sigh, well lets see what there is to read here...::looks around::
YarnKittymon: ((Jack's rather buff and probably looks slightly like an ex-con no matter how nicely he's dressed, though of course Libby wouldn't've told him any of this ^_^))
Purple Freak373: AX: Oh, no but I wanna see them now? I'm afraid if I don't get to see Libby now I won't get to talk to her, and I wanna know who she is marrying!
YarnKittymon: : ::the church is nearly empty, as the ushers themselves are just starting to show. It's a clean building filled with wooden pews, with clear windows on the left and right sides, to let natural sunlight in. Fox probably can't
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smirks:: That'd be me, mate
YarnKittymon: tell the denomination, if, indeed, there is one::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::walks to the hallway just in time to hear Jack's words, and she bites her lip, hard::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::frowns, glancing at Maeve:: Could you go out and make sure nothing's happened?
Purple Freak373: AX: You?! ::looks at him:: Well congrats!
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smils rather weakly at the 'you' part of the reply:: Yeah, cheers
Purple Freak373: AX: So, why are you marring her for?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::laughs::Okay, although I'm sure everythings fine. ::smiles at her and slips out of the room::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::steps forward, looking none-too-pleasantly at Jack, and not offering an introduction::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::looks rather bemused:: Uh...cos i love 'er mate, reason most people get married, i'd reckon
Purple Freak373: AX: Well take care of her, she is a dare friend of mine, and shes family, so I guess your family too..
Maeve Owens: MV: ::walks towards where the ceremony is being held, trying to tamp down the excitement that Alex might be there, but knowing it couldn't be possible::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::is a bit distracted by Greta; smiles at her:: Uh, Mrs. Indigo...right? Good to, uh, finally meet you ::grins despite her cold expression::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::sneaks away to search for Maeve and Libby::......
YarnKittymon: GT: ::adjusts her hat, looking Jack up and down:: What's your occupation?
Quantum Catz: JK: I... ::looks to the sky, half-praying for a cold beer to appear in his hands and wishing that churches had bars:: Work in the inn here
YarnKittymon: GT: ::turns away:: Hmph. My daughter has rather expensive tastes, you know that, right?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::crosses his arms and goes to sleep:: Zzzz
Quantum Catz: JK: ::raises his eyebrow:: I reckon i can make 'er happy - wouldn't be here otherwise
YarnKittymon: GT: ::after a pause:: Where is she? Perhaps it's not too late to talk her out of it?
Purple Freak373: AX: Maeve! Libby! ::looks around the Chruch but spots his dad:: Wake up you fool!
Maeve Owens: MV: ::She catches site of a familiar figure in front of her; yells:: Alex! ::runs towards him, smiling widely::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::turns aourd:: Maeve! Oh I missed you!
Maeve Owens: MV: ::throws her arms around him and hugs him for all she's worth:: Like wise. You know how hard it is to get into trouble when your by yourself?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::wakes up:: Well hello there Maeve, my my, you are pretty!
Quantum Catz: JK: ::his smile remains frozen his his face although Graeme might well pick up on the vague desire to throttle her behind Jack's eyes:: She's gettin' ready - but i reckon ye'd be better waiting till later to see 'er
Purple Freak373: AX: ::smiles and has a tear fall:: yeah I can't get into trouble with out you!!
YarnKittymon: GT: ::a little coldly:: Thank you, Mr. Richardson. ::walks off to find Libby without saying another word::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::can't quite hear the commotion going on in the sanctuary, but is getting a sinking feeling; glances at Becky:: She should've been back by now, you think?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::rolls his eyes at Graeme:: Is it too late to nip out for a quick pint first?
Quantum Catz: BM: WEll if it is Alex she may not come back at all...and that might mean your mother's here...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiles at the both of them:: I've missed the both of you a lot. ::she glances down, biting her lip to keep her tears in check::
Purple Freak373: FX: We missed you too! ::he stands up to hug her::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::groans:: Couldn't she have had the decency to show up a bit in advance? Give me some warning? ::steps back away from the door as it swings open
YarnKittymon: GT: ::Libby's mother's eyes only softening slightly to see her daughter dressed in a wedding gown:: Libby...
Maeve Owens: GW: ::laughs:: I dont think Libby would like it if you were a little waisted.
Purple Freak373: AX: ::Steps back:: So how have you been doing?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::sinks into the chair behind her, not worrying about mussing her dress at this point; turns away:: Mother...
Quantum Catz: BM: ::looks down in a vague attempt to not be seen since teleporting might be considered just a tad rude::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she returns his hug then looks to Alex, shrugging:: I'm okay. How about you?
Purple Freak373: AX: eh I'm okay...::sits down::
Quantum Catz: JK: From what i've heard of 'er mother she'll probably want t'join us soon enough
Purple Freak373: FX: This boy of mine has been helping me rent rooms out and selling off my horses. what fine lad he is.
YarnKittymon: GT: ::comes forward and puts her hand on Libby's shoulder; softly:: It's not too late to change your mind, darling. ::when she sees the cold look in Libby's eyes she regroups slightly:: I'm sure he's a nice man, but I don't see how he could keep you in the style you've become accustomed to.
Maeve Owens: GW: ::winces:: Sorry Jack, dont know what to tell ya... she seems like a hand full.
Quantum Catz: BM: ::softly:: No offence, but you don't even know him
Maeve Owens: MV: Oh, well that sure is a change. I take it things are better between the two of you?
Purple Freak373: AX: Dad! have not, I been a terror! Bad bad, yep thats me!
Purple Freak373: FX: ::laughs:: yes we get along better now...
YarnKittymon: LB: ::pulls away sharply from Greta:: Mother! Do you think I'm anything like you? That I'd marry a man I...let's face it, *hated*, just to stay rich? ::shakes her head, looking rather upset:: I love him, and you know, it's
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiles:: Thats good.
YarnKittymon: not as though I have the luxury of time here, if I want to have a family. ::looks back at her mother, tears coming to her eyes:: Just leave, all right? Thank you for coming to the wedding, but I don't want to see you until I walk down that aisle.
YarnKittymon: GT: ::looks rather startled, and then glares at Becky, as if either to accuse her of turning her daughter rude, or trying to garner sympathy from her::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::pouts:: Yeah....I also have a job, and studing to become a preacher...or atleast a teacher.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::looks a little surprised:: Wow. ::grins:: Then maybe you should lead the cerimony.
Quantum Catz: BM: Um...why don't i show you back out to the front, Mrs....uh, Indigo
Purple Freak373: AX: What?! You don't have a priest or anybody to say the ceromony?!
YarnKittymon: GT: ::looking at her daughter with a grimace:: Don't think I'll stand by and let you ruin your life, Libby.
Maeve Owens: MV: Yes... but we could always lock him away somewhere to give you a chance to practive. ::laughs::
Purple Freak373: FX: Thats right Alex has his license now to do that, he married a young couple a while ago...they were so sweet..
Purple Freak373: AX: They were sweet, but this is my step sister, and my future step brother in law...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::suddenly remember her promise to Libby and looks a little shocked:: Libby's mother is here isn't she? ::glances around:: Um, yeah, I'll be back. ::runs back to Libby::
Purple Freak373: FX: I better go check on my wife, shes been gone to long...Maeve could you tell me where libby is thats where she will be..
YarnKittymon: LB: ::to her mother, every bit as coldly:: And don't think I'll hesitate to ask Becky or Jack's friends to escort you out of the church if you do.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::calls over her shoulder:: Sure! be back in a bit!
Purple Freak373: AX: I really Think you should of keep Greta away from Libby till after the wedding dad..
YarnKittymon: GT: ::walks backwards towards the doorway, looking rather appalled, and backs right into Maeve; yells::
Purple Freak373: FX: Son, let me give you advice, a woman is gonna do what a woman's gonna do.
Quantum Catz: BM: ::looks over at Libby rather sympathetically::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::goes back to arranging her bouquet, her hands trembling::
Quantum Catz: BM: Come on - you're meant to be happy, remember?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::tries to dodge but ends up tripping over her:: Oh, I am so sorry... ::looks up to see who it is and winces:: Hi Mrs. Indigo.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::sighs, murmuring:: I shouldn't've invited her at all...
YarnKittymon: GT: ::pulls away from Maeve, glaring:: Get your hands off me. ::walks off quickly without another word::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::follows Maeve:: Maeve! I want to talk to Libby!
Quantum Catz: BM: She is your mother though
Maeve Owens: MV: ::rolls her eyes and opens the door to Libby's room and closes it quickly:: Hey Libby, guess who I saw. ::laughs nervously:: You want me to find that closet?
Purple Freak373: AX: Maeve! ::knocks on the door::: Maeve!
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly:: No, but I might ask Becky to take her outside if she opens her mouth...
Maeve Owens: MV: Ah, gotchya. ::pauses:: Do you want me to let him in?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::sighs:: Why not?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::opens the door::
Purple Freak373: AX: Hey! ::runs in:: Libby!
Quantum Catz: BM: ::smiles:: Hey, Alex
Purple Freak373: AX: Hey Becky, how are you? ::smiles::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly, though she looks rather tired, standing up to give Alex a hug::
Purple Freak373: AX: Hey sissy, sorry about Greta, but father just lets her do whatever she wants..you know...
YarnKittymon: LB: Don't let her do anything stupid, will you?
Purple Freak373: AX: Mmm shock therapy will work just fine...hehe
Quantum Catz: BM: Maybe not in the church though....
Maeve Owens: MV: ::laughs::
Purple Freak373: AX: Yeah....actually haven't used it in a while...a long while..
Purple Freak373: FX: ::looks around for Greta:: Hmmm wonder if shes done with Libby yet. ::has a seat::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly, belatedly getting the joke, then looks at the clock, frowning:: It was nice to see you again, Alex, but the wedding's in half an hour and I need to finish getting dressed. You understand, right?
YarnKittymon: GT: ::sits down heavily next to Fox, her face flushed with anger, though she doens't speak::
Purple Freak373: AX: Oh yeah, but...::coughs:: its boring with dad and great...ick..you know?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::kisses her cheek and takes her hand:: I love you.
Maeve Owens: MV: If its the mushyness you dont like, then great, pay back. ::smirks::
Quantum Catz: BM: You could always go chat to Graem and Jack
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods to Becky's suggestion::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::squeezes Fox's hand but doesn't reply::
Purple Freak373: AX: Yeah I thinkk I will! See yall around:: goes out to find Jack::
Purple Freak373: FX: I bet shes so pretty, I think I'm gonna cry...
YarnKittymon: GT: ::dryly:: I may as well.
Purple Freak373: FX: Well here is my hancky, use is as your will.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::starts to think about the old days and almost gets depressed before quickly pushing it aside. She smiles at Libby::
YarnKittymon: : ::the church quickly fills up most of the way over the past half-hour, with Libby and Jack's friends, acquaintances, and well-wishers; even a few people who appreciate Jack's help in restoring their powers show up; not one person looks as displeased as Libby's mother::
YarnKittymon: : ::the organist starts playing the wedding march and Libby shows herself through the back doors of the sanctuary and slowly walks down the aisle, nearly trembling in anxiety, but looking simply beautiful nonetheless; when she sees Jack waiting for her at the front of the church, her whole face lights up in a smile, and she shyly takes his hand in her own when she reaches him, looking up at him with a truly loving expression::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::grins and leans down; whispers:: Get through this then we can sneak out the back before yer mother ties to be disapprovin' again
YarnKittymon: LR: ::Jack's mother is seated at the front of the church, already crying, overcome with emotion, mostly joy::
Quantum Catz: AR: ::is sitting with her mother, smiling up at Jack, obviously happy for him::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs, half-wanting to kiss Jack right then and there, though her veil's in the way, so she settles for a brief nod, then looks back up at the pastor, waiting for him to begin::
Maeve Owens: :::the preacher, a man in his early 50's and wearing a black suite and tie, watches the happy couple for a moment before beginning the ceremony, theres a delightful smile on his face when speaks:: We come here today to witness the joining of this mand and this woman in holy matrimony.
YarnKittymon: GL: ::is a bit farther back, with her husband Graeme, seeming faintly amused with the whole affair, and glancing back towards Libby's mother every so often, half-expecting her to cause a scene before the end::
Quantum Catz: BM: ::can't help but glance at Toby as she watches, although she quickly turns away and tries to just be happy for Libby::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::is sitting next to her mother and crying along with her mom, trying desperately to tap down the feeling that she is losing her brother for good but also being truly happy for him::
Purple Freak373: FX: ::lets out a tear or two, but mostly smiles::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::smiles::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she sitting next to Alex, happy for Libby and really happy that she has family around her again::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::watches the scene with a strange look of calmness, which can't bode well for the future::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::stayed a row or two away from Becky, not daring to try to upset her, given that this is Libby's day; if he's feeling anything but happiness for the couple in front of the church, he doesn't show it::
Maeve Owens: ::the pastor clears his throat and then reads some verses from the Bible that pertain to marriage and what not. After he is done he looks up at the congregation:: Who gives this woman to be married?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::groans softly, wishing for all the world that the pastor would have omitted that part, especially since, as recently as yesterday evening, she'd been sure her mother wasn't showing::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::thinking that Greta may try to ruin things she pops out of her seat before she even has time to think it over:: I do, um, we do. That is her friends do. ::she shoots Greta a sharp look to keep the woman in her seat and then sits back down;:
Quantum Catz: BM: ::glances over at Greta as well::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::gets to her feet, glaring at Maeve for interfering:: I'm her *mother*, and I do *not*.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::under his breath:: Bars in churches...really...or at least a pint in my hand right now'd do...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::hisses at Fox:: Will you shut her up!
Maeve Owens: ::the preacher looks rather perplexed and glances back and forth between Libby and Jack::
Purple Freak373: FX: Greta, dear, please hold your toungue and have a sit....
Purple Freak373: AX: ::mummbles somthing under his breathe::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::glares back at Fox:: It's not your place! This is my daughter, and I'm sure her father would be just as upset as I am!
Maeve Owens: MV: ::whispers to Alex:: you couldnt have found a way to lose her along the way?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks up at the preacher; in a quiet, clear voice that rings throughout the church:: If you read the wedding certificate, I think you'll see I'm old enough to make my own decision, sir, and I'm fairly certain my father
Purple Freak373: FX: If you don't hold your tougue, I will take you home right now.
YarnKittymon: would be happy to see me here. If it pleases God and the church, I bring myself to marry this man, whom I love.
Purple Freak373: AX: Dad do the dream thing on her..
YarnKittymon: GT: ::looks coldly at Fox, ready to open her mouth again::
Purple Freak373: FX: ::stares at Alex then looks at Greta:: Shhh, theres a wedding going on, sit!
Maeve Owens: ::nods, looking over at Libby's mother and the confusion going on with a grim face before continuing, his voice tighter than before:: Do you Miss Libby Williamson, take this man, Jack Richards, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to
Purple Freak373: FX: :: he looks into her eyes:: she is now probally picturing herself in a church with all the people in her dream, she can yell all she wants, but noone hears her::
YarnKittymon: GT: ::slumps down onto the pew, looking straight ahead, vacantly::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::whispers to his dad:: Thank you...
Quantum Catz: JK: ::looks at Greta:: Is she ok?
Maeve Owens: have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to death do you part?
Purple Freak373: FX: ::nods::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods slightly to Jack, whispering:: I'll explain later. ::smiles up at Jack, in a much louder voice:: I do.
Purple Freak373: AX: ::The words bring back the memory of Sarena, and he has a tear fall::
YarnKittymon: GL: ::leans next to Graeme happily, sure the hard part's over now::
Maeve Owens: ::the preacher look to Jack:: And do you, Jack Richards, take this woman, Libby Williamson, to be your lawfully wedded wife to, have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to death do you part?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::is still looking a bit bemused but he smiles down at Libby and says:: I do
Maeve Owens: GW: ::puts his arm around his wife and smiles down at her lovingly::
Purple Freak373: AX: ::looks at Maeve:: sorry you know how dad is...couldn't lose that woman for the world, that and he put me to sleep...
YarnKittymon: TY: ::looks away from the couple, thinking of his own wedding, and not yet quite daring to hope he'll have another::
Purple Freak373: FX: I'm a dead man when she wakes up...sighs.
Maeve Owens: ::the preacher nods, asking for the exchanging of rings while going through the whole "With this ring, I thee wed" speech::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::whispers:: As long as it shut her up I dont care. Poor Libby. ::shakes her head, then looks at Alex quizzically:: He puts you to sleep a lot or something?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::slips Jack's wedding ring on his finger, her heart fluttering the whole time::
Purple Freak373: AX: Thats why I'm such a good lad now...hint hint...
Quantum Catz: JK: ::grins at Libby::
Maeve Owens: ::the preacher smiles at them:: Now by the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. ::grins, looking at Jack:: You may kiss the bride.
Purple Freak373: AX: ::whitles loudly::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::flushes, looking up at Jack with an expression that shows she can't quite believe it's happened::
Purple Freak373: FX: ::claps::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::leans down and kisses her lightly, whispering:: That's it, you're stuck with me now
YarnKittymon: LB: ::puts her arms around Jack, whispering:: If we hurry down the aisle we just might make it...
Maeve Owens: :still smiling he addresses the congregation once more:: Ladies and gentlemen, may I present, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Richards.
YarnKittymon: : ::much of the church breaks out into applause at the announcement, and Libby does walk, rather quickly, with Jack, towards the exit of the church::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::just follows Libby's lead::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::breathing a little hard when they've made it safely outside; leans against Jack, murmuring:: Did we really make it through?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::chuckles:: I reckon so

YarnKittymon: ~Thursday, June 16, 1932~
YarnKittymon: : ::they rented the tavern where Jack works for the reception, and had it cleaned up nicely; few of the guests get too rowdy, and Libby spends the whole time talking with the many people who came to wish her and Jack well (or eat free from a buffet); she has to reprimand Daniel for trying to fight a young man about his age, and between all the other stresses, doesn't quite manage to see Maeve until most of the guests have left...she and Jack are planning to stay the night in Marquis and leave for their honeymoon on the mainland first thing in the morning::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::finally catches Maeve as the last guests are working their way out--she's had a radiant expression on her face all night, and now that she's working her way out, she has a small picture frame in one hand; she puts the other hand on Maeve's shoulder, smiling widely at her:: Thank you.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she returns her smile, clearly happy for her friend:: Thank you? For what?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs slightly:: For trying to keep my mother from ruining my wedding?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::laughs:: Oh that, no problem. It was my pleasure. ::she sobers a little, still smiling:: Congratulations Libby, I'm really happy for you.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::suddenly puts both arms around Maeve, slightly poking her (unintentionally) with the corner of the picture frame:: And for minding the shop, too--::laughs slightly::...I guess you're my cousin-in-law or something, and I couldn't be happier.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she laughs again:: Couldn't have asked for a better cousin-in-law if I say so myself. ::she hugs Libby back, but once she feels the frame poking her she pulls back looking down at what Libby is holding:: Whats up with the picture frame?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::flushes slightly:: It's childish, even *wrong,* I daresay, but I wanted to...sort of have my father here for my wedding, even if he wasn't there to walk me down the aisle. ::she turns the picture so Maeve can see it; her father and a couple other men in military uniforms are posed in front of a cafe, smiling widely--Maeve's eyes immediately fall on the man immediately to the right of Libby's father::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she has to bend down closer to get a better look in order to make sure what she sees is real. Sure enough its a picture of her father, his round face and almond shaped eyes staring back at her. His short brown hair is tucked under a hat but even so she can still picture how dark it would have been. She doesn't say anything for a while but ever so slowly her finger points to his image; quietly:: Do you know who he is?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks at Maeve, a little surprised; softly:: Not by name; in one of his last letters Father wrote back that he'd met some new friends in Europe while he was on R&R. Why?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::whispers:: Because thats my father. ::looks like she can barely take her eyes off his image::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::looks at Maeve, not quite believing it, but when she sees the look on her friend's face, the doubts vanish from her mind:: He was in the War too?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she nods, swallowing hard then prying her eyes away from the picture; softly:: And I dont think it's childish, or even wrong.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly at Maeve; softly:: Well, if you bring a photograph of your father with you to your wedding, I promise I won't say a word.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she drops her eyes and after a moment; sadly:: If I had one I probably would, if I ever got married that is. ::shrugs::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::the smile fades from her face, and she instantly grabs Maeve's hand, pressing the picture frame into it:: You can borrow it until we get a copy made.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::looks shocked for a few seconds, then almost accpets but shakes her head:: Its your wedding day. You need it more than I do right now.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::shakes her head instantly:: It's not the only photograph I have of him, Maeve, just the last. ::smiling slightly:: And I hardly need the thought of my father watching me on my wedding night, you know.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::She laughs quietly at that remark before hesitantly accepting the photograph, her eyes drawn back to his image.:: That is so strange you know. To think they knew each other... and I had lost all hope of ever having a reminder from home. ::smiles just a tiny bit::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::softly:: He called all the men in the picture his friends, Maeve. Your father must've been a good man; he didn't use that word lightly.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she smiles a little more and before she can change her mind she moves to give Libby another hug; quietly:: Thanks Libby.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles, returning Maeve's hug; softly:: I'd better find Jack so we can get back home; we have an early start tomorrow.
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she nods, pulling away:: Okay. ::smiling again:: You guys have fun.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::grins:: You too. Just don't burn my shop down, all right?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::laughs:: I promise it wont burn to the ground. I've gotten good at scarrying people out of the shop *without* singeing the merchandise.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: I wouldn't let you run it for a week if I didn't trust you. I'll see you when we get back!
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiles:: Okay. See you then! ::breifly wonders how much it would take to move her shop to another location but disregards the idea, figuring Libby would have a heartattack if she couldn't find it.::
