Quantum Catz: IS: ::in the late afternoon, when Isaac knows Maeve isn't working, he goes around to her house and knocks on the door; he looks quite annoyed, in fact probably more annoyed than than Maeve's probably seen him bar when he was fighting undead monsters who were trying to kill Josh::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she opens her door and the sinking feeling is back with a vengence. She doesn't even bother to try and smile; with concern:: is Josh okay?
Quantum Catz: IS: ::sharply:: You should've told me
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she winces, stepping away from the door and silently inviting him in:: I'm sorry... I wasn't planning on Donald's ghost showing up.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::doesn't move:: He said "all of you". He said he nearly killed "all of you". Which means probably Toby and Becky and Libby all know this too and he said he overheard Guy saying things about Donald as well.
Quantum Catz: IS: Did you expect to just be able to sweep it under the carpet forever? You should've told me!

Maeve Owens: MV: ::startles a little at the anger she thinks she detects in his voice; softly:: No, I dont suppose I expected that... since nothing in my past stay buried for long... ::a little annoyed:: no matter how much I wish it would.
Maeve Owens: MV: I'm sorry... it never crossed my mind that you needed to know. Josh was already thinking of him as a hero and I didn't want him to be hurt.
Quantum Catz: ((isaac would probably have said that they didn't know any of the details and it might just have been an accident and that you can't blame someone for one mistake they make in their life - he still saved josh and was still a hero for doing that.))

Quantum Catz: IS: Well i don't want him to be hurt either ::snaps:: Which is why i should've known! I can't protect him from things if i don't know about them!
Maeve Owens: MV: All right! You should have known! But what do you want me to do about it now? I cant go back and change it.
Quantum Catz: IS: I want you to be able to tell me the truth about things! It's obvious you've been keeping other things from me too - what was that about wanting to protect you in a few years time? Do all your other friends know about that as well?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::leans against the door; soflty:: Yes... kind of. I dont think Libby believes me which is *one* reason I never told you. The other reason is that its irrelevant now. To much has changed. And we could go ahead and discuss my whole past... guess that would save us time... you leaving now ::her voice catching:: instead of later... ::bites her lip::
Quantum Catz: IS: ::Stops looking angry, surprised by her words:: Leaving?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she shrugs:: Yeah.. I dont see how or why... I dont know! ::buries her head in her hands:: Theres a lot more than Harry lurking in my past and with the luck I'm having its not going to stay there either.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::is lost for words for a moment:: Why should it be buried? You're supposed to *trust* me!
Maeve Owens: MV: I *do*! Its just my past that I dont! Besides the fact that... just dont really... its just kind of hard I guess. Especially the part about Donald.
Quantum Catz: IS: You're supposed to trust that i care enough about you that i won't *want* to leave! ::groans and turns away from her, running his hand through her hair and looking frustrated::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::frustrated as well, and a little scared:: Okay! Fine! I do, I will. Just not out here where Mrs. Caradas can hear... she's told the town enough about me..
Quantum Catz: IS: ::sighs and turns back to head into the house:: Okay... ::softly:: I'm sorry...it's just...the same thing happened before with the monsters at Saxton...i just...people keep *springing* things on me and then i'm the one who has to deal with all the problems that come up when they do
Maeve Owens: MV: ::mutters:: I'm sorry about the monsters, and the secrets, but prepare for some more *springing*. You want half, or all in one day? ::smirks:: Long version or the short?
Quantum Catz: IS: ::softly:: It isn't funny, Maeve. Josh was really upset after we got home and i couldn't tell him anything because i didn't have a clue what had happened myself
Maeve Owens: MV: Sorry... I didn't mean to make light of what happened...
Quantum Catz: IS: ::sighs:: No, I'm sorry...i just...they've gone through enough, especially Josh
Maeve Owens: MV: I know... ::is now more worried since he's probably going to see her past as a threat::
Quantum Catz: IS: ::heads into Maeve's living room without saying anything and sits down; looking a bit worried himself since Maeve seems so sure her past is going to drive him away::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she closes the door and slowly moves over to sit down in a chair across from him; softly:: I dont even know where to start...or whats even relevant... how much do you want to know?
Quantum Catz: IS: ::softly:: You make it sound like an interrogation, Maeve - i want to know who you are, i want to know what's made you who you are - you don't have to describe your entire history to me
Maeve Owens: MV: ::looks even more confused as to where to start and what she should tell, then after a moment:: Well, I guess you have a right to know what I've done... at least it'll make things easier I guess, since you'll know...
Quantum Catz: IS: ::sighs, rubbing his forehead and looking rather stressed out; softly:: Do you want to do this? If you don't want to tell me i'll leave, i'll leave and you won't have to say anything
Maeve Owens: MV: ::quickly:: No! Because if there is even a small chance you'll stick around afterwards... ::sighs::
Quantum Catz: IS: ::looks up at her smiling weakly:: I guess that's a start anyway
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she takes a deep breath and lets it out:: Okay... well... I was seeing Donald back in New York and soon after he arranged it so that me, Becky, Libby and Toby along with my sister and several other of our friends were held hostage in his employers mansion. The woman wanted to live forever, along with Donald and his helpers, and they planned to use our energy to do it. Back then Becky didn't have a body, she was basically just her powers and we almost lost her but I broke the chain which ended the energy and this probably sounds confusing but in the end Donald tried to help us out. But Mrs. Madison intervened, held a gun at me, fired and lets just say she missed but I kind of retalliated and I.. ::finally takes a breath to force out the last part:: killed her. I went to prison. Broke out. Came here. ::then holds her breath waiting for his reaction::
Maeve Owens: MV: ::quickly adds:: Oh yeah, broke out because they planned to kill me.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::takes a long time to reply, looking down at his hands; softly:: Is that everything?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she hesitates:: From that incident... yeah...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::is so nervous at this point she's probably shaking, his silence adding to her anxiety;:
Quantum Catz: IS: ::moves across to kneel in front of Maeve, taking hold of her hand:: I love you, Maeve
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she looks utterly shocked at first but it fades and she smiles;quietly:: I love you too...
Quantum Catz: IS: ::softly:: Why do you do this to yourself? From what you said, you saved Becky's life and managed to survive a really terrible experience...
Maeve Owens: MV: I dont know... I killed someone and was in jail... And theres more of course that was self defense and some other things....
Quantum Catz: IS: What other things?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::hesitantly:: Theres a picture... floating around... thats not all that... good. ::winces::
Quantum Catz: IS: What d'you mean 'not good'?
Maeve Owens: MV: I was 17, I needed cash... I was already thrown back on the streets... of course those are only excuses but I was approached to do this thing and it was in one of those, er, "racy" types...
Quantum Catz: IS: ::reaches up to touch Maeve's face:: Maeve, i already told you i understood about the things desperation can make you do...i hate that you ever had to do anything like that...but i'm not going to hate you for doing it... ::sighs:
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiles:: I'm sorry... I guess I'm just paranoid. And I shouldn't be... but everything seems to keep messing things up.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::softly:: I just want you to trust me
Maeve Owens: MV: ::honestly:: I do. And I will.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::sighs:: I hope you do...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she nods, still smiling just a little:: I feel a little better I guess.... and I dont think theres really anything more thats going to pop up unexpectedly. ::frowns:: I hope.
Quantum Catz: IS: What about what you said about what's going to happen in a few years time?
Maeve Owens: MV: We went into the future a while back and I found out that someone would ;:she pauses again, struggling to get the words out:: kill me sometime in 35 I *think*. But too much has changed and its *not* going to happen. Or it could have already and we speeded it up. Who knows.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::blinks:: You went into the future?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she nods, a little confused that he got stuck on *that* part:: Becky's brother has that ability. We were kind of in a car accident and needed medical attention and they thought the future would be a better place to do that in.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::Softly:: I won't let you die - i'd go to hell and back to make sure i don't lose you - i've lost enough people in my life ::sighs:: But you sure are good at getting yourself intro trouble, aren't you?
Maeve Owens: MV: ::those words warm her and she smiles but the last statement cause her to wince:: I probably should have told you about Penny coming back... which is why I say it might have already happened. ::frowns:: And I dont mean to get into trouble... its just seems to follow me. *My whole life.*
Quantum Catz: IS: ::softly:: Well you've survived so far and you've got me now - anything that happens to you, i'll be right there ::smiles wryly:: As long as you tell me about it of course
Maeve Owens: MV: ::she smiles again:: Okay, no more secrets. ::half joking:: That doesn't mean I have to go tell Libby her shop almost burnt down on my watch does it?
Quantum Catz: IS: ::smiles weakly:: I think maybe you can leave that one
Maeve Owens: MV: Thats good, because you'd either be reviving me, or Libby cause who knows how she would have reacted.
Quantum Catz: IS: ::chuckles weakly:: Well i suppose if jack was there she wouldn't be getting hurt
Maeve Owens: MV: ::wryly:: Well, I kind of meant her having a heart attack and nothing I'd do in self defense. ::gives a half hearted laugh::
Quantum Catz: IS: ::smiles:: I really do love you, Maeve...
Maeve Owens: MV: ::smiling a little more, she leans down to kiss him in response, showing him that she feels the same::
Quantum Catz: IS: ::kisses her back, just grateful to be with her:::
