Both Erins parents were varients, and were killed in the Piccadilly Shootings in 1926.  Many varients were killed in that year, with groups rapidly forming against the 'mutants'.  This is when Erin discovered her power, and fled to America to escape the violence and start a new life.  But most importantly to forget the terrifying visions she saw of her parents death, which she has now almost completly surpressed.))
