part 2

YarnKittymon: DL: ::is waiting at the front of Mrs. Madison's estate, rather impatiently, for Tony to return from an errand::
JopDance:
ti: ::walks in slowly enough; he impatiently brushes his black hair from his forehead before acknowledging Donald:: Hello
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::looks up at him, not smiling:: Find your woman yet?
JopDance:
ti: ::frowns:: No.
YarnKittymon:
DL: Well, if you've lost your fear of freaks, you can try your luck with them, I suppose. ::pulls his car keys from his pocket:: But we have to start now.
JopDance:
ti: ::excitedly:: You mean I get to be immortal now?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::walks over to his car, frowning:: Soon. First we'll need the freaks, though, and I have a trick to get them.
JopDance:
ti: ::follows him to his car:: What kind of trick?
YarnKittymon:
DL: You'll see soon enough. Takes a freak to catch a freak. ::unlocks Tony's door:: Not sure you'll like it or not, but it'll be worth it.
JopDance:
ti: ::frowns:: We ain't goin' to hurt 'em are we?
YarnKittymon:
DL: Not if they behave.
JopDance:
ti: ::gets into car:: So what are we going to do?
YarnKittymon:
DL: Just do a little *convincing.* ::gets in the driver's side::
JopDance:
ti: ::sighs:: I guess that's all the information I get for now.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::starts the ignition:: Just play along. ::pauses, then smiles a little, looking at Tony::
YarnKittymon:
((What is he wearing?))
JopDance:
((tan pants and a long-sleeved plad shirt))
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::turns off the car:: Do you own a suit?
JopDance:
ti: Yea, but it's pretty old. You want me to change?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::shakes his head; starts the car again:: No, but we'll buy you one. ::goes down the driveway without another word::
JopDance:
ti: ::looks out window:: You didn't tell me I had to get dressed up for this.
YarnKittymon:
DL: I think she'd recognize me. Tony, I need you to play a physician.
JopDance:
ti: ::laughs:: What? You think I could pass for one?
YarnKittymon:
DL: It depends on it.
JopDance:
ti: Whoever you're trying to fool must be pretty stupid if they could think I was a doctor.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::frowns:: She's not, but she is just a child.
JopDance:
ti: Is she that one girl you drove to Coney before?
YarnKittymon:
((Crud; which girl was that?))
JopDance:
((Jenny's character, I think. I can't remember her name. ;_;))
YarnKittymon:
((Ah, Alisha. Thanks. ^_^))
YarnKittymon:
DL: No; you've never met her.
JopDance:
ti: Oh.
YarnKittymon:
DL: She's bright enough, but you're going to tell her her father is ill.
JopDance:
ti: I guess I can handle that.
YarnKittymon:
DL: And you'll have to act as if you mean it. Get your shoulders up; you don't look very much like a doctor.
JopDance:
ti: ::has been slouched down in the seat; he sits up, taking a deep breath that pushes in his gut and puffs out his chest. He looks more comical then like a serious doctor.::
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::glances at Tony; frowns:: But you'll have to do. Perhaps the right suit will improve your appearance.
JopDance:
ti: ::lets out the breath and relaxes:: I told you this wouldn't work.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::rather sharply:: Well, what am I supposed to do? Clay is far too young, and while Thalgore styles himself a doctor, he'd do nothing more than make Michelle go running back to her brother in fright!
JopDance:
ti: ::scowls:: Fine, fine, I'll be the doctor.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::is silent for a long time, watching the road; finally:: It's for their own good.
JopDance:
ti: How is making this kid think her father sick good for her? And how sick is he anyway? Is he going to die?
YarnKittymon:
DL: We're all going to die, if we don't take the proper measures, Tony. I'm afraid if we just asked her nicely, she might not help. But if it was for the sake of her father, I'm certain she'd do anything.
JopDance:
ti: ::smirks:: What do you need her help for?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::ponders for a bit, clearly wondering whether to tell him or not; finally:: The freaks will follow Miss Libby Williamson anywhere, right?
JopDance:
ti: Yea..?
YarnKittymon:
DL: Even to Mrs. Madison's estate...?
JopDance:
ti: Probably...Oh, I see.
YarnKittymon:
DL: This Michelle, she can trade bodies with anyone. Her mind would be in Miss Williamson's body, and she could tell her acts to do anything...
JopDance:
ti: So you're going to blackmail her? Tell her you only have the cure or something?
YarnKittymon:
DL: It's the truth! Her father may not be ill, but he's old enough; he probably won't live to see her children born!
JopDance:
ti: Telling her her father's sick when he's not is the truth?
YarnKittymon:
DL: It's true that if she doesn't do *something,* her father will be dead well before she's prepared to lose him!
JopDance:
ti: So you're giving him immortality too?
YarnKittymon:
DL: If he wishes--though I don't think the freaks want it, and he's probably like them. But at least he would have had the opportunity... ::suddenly slams on the brakes to avoid rear-ending someone; he's been driving more than a little distracted::
JopDance:
ti: ::braces himself against the dashboard to keep his head from hitting it; he looks suffiently spooked:: Whoa, maybe you oughta let me drive.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::looking at the car ahead:: Bloody idiots... ::looks at Tony, ignoring his suggestion:: If we'd started this earlier, Serena might still be alive.
JopDance:
ti: ::too irritated to care:: Who?
YarnKittymon:
DL: One of the freaks; Maeve's close friend. Alex's bride for a day before she was killed!
JopDance:
ti: Well don't get mad at me. I didn't kill her.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::quietly, turning his attention back to the road:: Well, don't try to change my mind. If we want this--if we want to give them the chance to protect themselves before some more lunatics try to kill them--we have to act now, no matter if we have to do ugly things or not.
JopDance:
ti: Fine, but I draw the line at murder. Are we close to wear we're going?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::softly:: Yeah. ::sighs, turning into a parking lot:: You'd never even consider...::sighs again::
JopDance:
ti: ::annoyed:: Consider what?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::parks:: Nothing. ::gets out of the car::
JopDance:
ti: ::gets out and angrily slams the door:: You know I'm getting tired of you doing that.
YarnKittymon:
DL: Well, how would you feel? If the woman you love likely wouldn't accept the gift you'd go to the ends of the earth to give her? If it's your fault that someone was *killed*?
JopDance:
ti: You're taking this too seriously. She's just a girl and how was it your fault that her friend died?
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::softly:: If we'd done this earlier, we would've given her the chance to never die. She may have accepted. ::slowly closes his door:: Besides, we need as many freaks as we can get for it to work. Too few, and it may be dangerous, or it may fail.
JopDance:
ti: It's not like you knew someone would shoot her. ::sighs:: Look, let's just get the suit and get this thing over with.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::nods, heading to the store:: Do you still want to do this? It's not too late; you can get out.
JopDance:
ti: ::stolidly:: I'm sure. ::opens the door and steps in::
YarnKittymon:
: ::it's the shop where Donald buys all his suits; the salesman is able to pick out a expensive suit for Tony in just a few minutes, one that hopefully won't need altered::
JopDance:
ti: ::tries it on and t fits perfectly. It's a brown double-brested suit with shoulder pads that hides the fact that partly hides the fact that he's a little out of shape.::
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::pays for the suit:: You'll do. Come on; it's getting late, and I'll need to make sure her brother is nowhere around.
JopDance:
ti: I'll do? I look great! ::follows him out of the store::
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::wryly:: I guess you could see if you can pick up a woman before we get to the car. I should've bought you one before.
JopDance:
ti: I'd bet I could get any woman I want in this suit.
YarnKittymon:
DL: ::pauses, looking at him, then curses softly:: Why don't you go ahead and try tonight? I'll get a better look at what's going on at Miss McHenry's house and you'll gain some confidence so you'll be a better doctor for tomorrow.
JopDance: ti: ::smiles:: Sounds good to me. I'll see you tomorrow.
YarnKittymon:
DL: Just don't make anyone any stupid promises; if you tell them of our plans, I'll deny everything.
JopDance:
ti: Don't worry. I'll be careful.
YarnKittymon:
DL: All right. Good luck, Tony.
JopDance:
ti: ::waves and walks off::
