YarnKittymon: LB: ::is working at her shop that afternoon, though she's a bit distracted; Jack's family is probably coming into town sometime that day, so she's done her hair--several inches longer than it was in 1928--more nicely than usual under her summer straw hat, and she's wearing one of her nicest dresses; at the moment, she's re-folding blouses that probably didn't need it, to kill time and steady her nerves::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::opens the door, standing back to let his mother and two sisters in first::
YarnKittymon: LR: ::hangs back, waiting for her daughters to go into the unfamiliar place::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::she walks in but stands just inside waiting for Jack::
Quantum Catz: AR: ::walks in as well, and looks appreciatively around at the clothes::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smiles at Louise:: Come on Mom
YarnKittymon: LR: ::smiles up at her son, then walks into the store, ducking slightly under the doorframe, never mind that she's on the short side, and certainly in no danger of banging her head::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::walks in with them and then turns to grin at Libby:: Well this's the family - minus the bossy oldest sister of course
YarnKittymon: LB: ::comes out quickly from behind the counter, smiling, though she's rather nervous:: Pleased to meet you. ::goes to meet each of them in turn::
YarnKittymon: LR: ::is focused rather more on Jack than Libby, though she dares to look back at the latter and smile once she's ascertained that her son, indeed, loves this woman::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::she gives Libby a friendly smile but keeps close to Jack, occasionally looking up at him with that adoring younger sister grin, being quite happy to see him again and a little sad about having to share him with his fiance::
Quantum Catz: AR: ::smiles at Libby:: Nice to meet you - hope you're keeping the little brother out of trouble...well as much as you can anyway
Quantum Catz: JK: ::has a gentle hand on his mother's back, as if a bit worried about her being comfortable::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::half joking:: Hey, i can keep myself out of trouble, thanks
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles at Anne, though she flushes a bit, involuntarily:: Besides, I'm not sure any woman can do that. ::shakes Anne's hand warmly, then Nicole's:: You must be thrilled to see him again.
Maeve Owens: NR: ::she nods, taking the offered hand:: Yes, I feel like its been an etertnity since we last saw him. But I'm glad he found a nice girl. I've been just thrilled about meeting you. ::smiles::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::puts a hand on Louise's shoulder, though the latter shies back slightly:: It's a pleasure to meet the woman who brought up such a wonderful man. You should be proud of him.
YarnKittymon: LR: ::is clearly taken aback, but she smiles and stammers her thanks, not looking up at Libby::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::puts an arm around his mother and grins at Libby; not really being serious but trying to put his mother in a lighter mood:: Who wouldn't be proud of me?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs lightly:: I don't suppose he's told you of all his adventures in town?
Maeve Owens: NR: ::shakes her head:: No, he hasn't yet. ::glances up at him:: So you haven't been staying out of trouble then? Jack! What if you land back in jail again? That would be just awful.
Quantum Catz: JK: Aw, come on, Nicole - you know me - can't keep a good guy down - but you know i ain't gonna end up in jail again, i just got unlucky is all
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly, though anyone looking at her can clearly tell the idea's been bothering her quite a bit::
Maeve Owens: NR: As long as you promise your luck wont run out again. ::smiles::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smirks:: Well there ain't many coppers on this island and i can't say much for the guards
YarnKittymon: LR: ::softly:: You know Jack's always taken care of himself, and the rest of us too.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::sobers a bit at those words but quickly smiles:: Come on, don't think about that - i'm sure yer meant to be gushin' over wedding things or something
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods:: You must all be tired from the trip. Are you hungry? We can go back to my house and I'll make you lunch.
Maeve Owens: NR: ::smiles, then glances to her mother, uncertain about imposing on Libby seeing that they barely know her::
Quantum Catz: JK: Oh stop being so polite, the lot of ye - she is about t'be part of the family after all ::smirks:: We can go back to her place'n maybe the lot of you'll start talking
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles, taking Jack's hand briefly, and then looks at Louise warmly:: Come on, Mom.
YarnKittymon: LR: ::looks a little surprised, but goes along readily with Jack::
Quantum Catz: AR: ::chuckles:: You're always the same Jack ::follows them::
YarnKittymon: GL: ::a woman with deep brown hair and hazel eyes, very well-dressed, and prettier than Libby, though several years older, is walking down the street with her husband, looking around, and she cries out when she sees Jack leave the building:: Jack! Don't suppose you remember old Glory?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::looks surprised to say the least but he grins:: You think i'd forget you? After that breakup speech?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::stops in her tracks, and then pointedly turns to lock the door of her shop::
YarnKittymon: GL: ::hurries forward and kisses Jack on the cheek:: How *are* you?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smirks:: Oh, you know me - i always land on my feet eventually - how did you know where i was?
Maeve Owens: NR: I took it upon myself to invite her. ::grins:: The more the merrier I thought.
YarnKittymon: GL: ::grins, looking around:: So where's your little lady?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::turns to smile at Libby, a cheerful, loving look in his eyes:: Libby, this's Glory, of all people
YarnKittymon: LB: ::can't pretend to be locking her door any further, so turns to face the woman, smiling weakly; she has to go over to Jack and take his arm for reassurance:: Pleased to meet you, Glory.
YarnKittymon: GL: ::looks around, a little impatiently:: Where's Graeme got off to?
Maeve Owens: GW: ::a man with moderate good looks comes to stand next to Glory, he smiles weakly at her:: Right here. ::he extends his hand to Jack:: Hey Jack, nice to see ya again mate.
YarnKittymon: GL: ::smiles warmly at Libby:: This is my husband Graeme; I suppose Jack told you about him.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::nods silently::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smirks:: You too - has been a while, ain't it? Shame i was locked up when you two tied the knot ::looks down to smile at Libby, although even he's a bit thrown by his sister's inviting Glory and Graeme::
Maeve Owens: GW: ::nods his head at Libby in greeting::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::with a visible effort, though she's smiling:: We're just going to my house for lunch; you're welcome to come along if you like.
YarnKittymon: GL: Oh, I don't know...we ain't exactly family.
Maeve Owens: GW: ::nods:: Wouldn't want to be imposin on you all.
YarnKittymon: LB: ::isn't sure whether or not to press the issue:: All right, but stop by later, will you? Once you're settled in?
Maeve Owens: GW: Sure thing, you'all have a good lunch. I'm sure you have a lot of stuff to be talkin about. See ya Jack. ::looks to Libby:: Nice meetin ya. ::looks back to Glory::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smirks:: It ain't like you to be backward about coming forward, Glor - if you wanna come, i'm sure Libby won't mind
YarnKittymon: GL: ::laughs:: We'll have time to see the both of you later, Jack; I'll let you have a *little* time with your family first. ::grabs Graeme's arm and waves cheerfully at them as she walks off::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::looking to Jack:: I hope it was okay to invite them. I thought you might like seeing old friends again. ::smiles::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::laughs and smiles at Nicole:: Coulda given me a bit o' warning' first, Nic
Maeve Owens: NR: And spoil the surprise?
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs slightly, walking towards her house:: Well, it was *that*. I can't promise a fancy lunch; I've been trying to eat up all the food before the honeymoon.
Quantum Catz: AR: I'm sure it'll be fine
YarnKittymon: LB: ::gets to her house and unlocks the front door; the place is even neater than usual; motions to the living room:: Make yourselves at home; it'll be half Jack's anyway in a few days.
YarnKittymon: LR: ::sits down in one of the chairs, looking rather tired::
Quantum Catz: JK: ::Sits next to his mother:: Y'okay?
Maeve Owens: NR: ::sits down on the sofa, casually looking around her::
YarnKittymon: LR: ::smiles at Jack:: It's so good to see you again.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::shrugs:: You know i'm always about if y'need me
YarnKittymon: : ::the room has a sofa and a couple chairs, all in matched, deep colors; there's a radio on a table near one of the chairs, and a bookshelf a little more than half-full; the furniture sits on an Oriental-style rug, and even the
YarnKittymon: knick-knacks have been shined::
YarnKittymon: LR: It's a long trip, Jack.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::shrugs:: There's ways of getting somewhere if you need to around here - Libby's friend Becky could get me there in an instant if i had to
YarnKittymon: LR: ::looks rather surprised:: How?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smiles weakly:: Not all'a the people on this island're exactly normal...'s kinda the point of the place
Maeve Owens: NR: What do you mean they aren't exactly normal?
Maeve Owens: NR: I mean, I definitely noticed some people with some really bizarre magic tricks.
Quantum Catz: JK: Well some of them've got fancy powers...things they can do that people on the mainland can't
Maeve Owens: NR: Oh.
YarnKittymon: LR: Do you know anyone else here...unusual?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smiles weakly:: Mom, it's an island for these people to be safe - most've the people you've met here've probably been ::sighs:: unusual
YarnKittymon: LR: Well, I guess you wouldn't be here if it wasn't safe.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smiles:: 'S a good place to be ::Smirks:: Although i dunno about lettin' Nicole near Maeve...
Maeve Owens: NR: Maeve? Whose that and why shouldn't I go near her? Is she... unusual too?
Quantum Catz: JK: Well yeah, she is...but i reckon you two'd get on like a house on fire...and with Glory about too ::smirks at his little sister:: Never know what you might end up getting up to
Maeve Owens: NR: ::smiles:: Sounds like fun to me.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::chuckles; teasingly:: Aye, what about the rest of us?
YarnKittymon: LR: ::looks around, quite cheered to have most of the family together again:: Speaking of the rest of us, Nancy's real sorry she couldn't come, but she sends her love to you and Libby, and wishes you both the best. She'll be out
YarnKittymon: if she can ever get away.
Maeve Owens: NR: I wish Richard could have come too but he was too busy to break free. ::cheerfully:: I just know you'll like him Jack.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::smiles and jokes:: I dunno - got a pretty extensive checklist for blokes who want to marry my baby sister
YarnKittymon: LR: ::laughs softly::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::rolls her eyes:
Quantum Catz: AR: ::teases:: Well for all you know your little sister has a checklist for your prospective spouse
Maeve Owens: NR: Yes, and maybe I intend to grill her as soon as I get the chance. ::smiles at Libby:: And maybe also share some stories of my own.
YarnKittymon: ((Libby was supposed to have gone off to make lunch, though I didn't mention it ^^;;; ))
Quantum Catz: ((maybe she's just coming back in ;)))
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles at them, rather nervously:: I'm done with lunch...making it, I mean. Just sandwiches but you're welcome whenever you're ready.
Quantum Catz: JK: Better lunch than sharin' stories about me, i reckon
YarnKittymon: LB: ::grins at him:: You're just too modest. Most the town thinks you're a hero a couple times over, you know.
Maeve Owens: NR: Or better sharing stories about you over lunch. ::grins, getting up from her seat:: Thank you for making lunch. Sandwhiches sounds good after all the food we've been eating on the way over here.
Quantum Catz: JK: ::shakes his head:: I ain't no hero ::smirks at Nicole:: And i was thinkin' we could ferget the story bit altogther
YarnKittymon: LB: ::has laid the table with a bright tablecloth and set out half a dozen club sandwiches, along with a small salad and a pitcher of lemonade::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::smirks:: And skip the chance to embarrass you in front of your bride to be? What kind of sister do you think I am?
Quantum Catz: JK: ::raises an eyebrow teasingly:: Obviously a better one than you are
Maeve Owens: NR: ::sticks her tongue ut at him::
YarnKittymon: LB: ::laughs:: At least *I'm* safe, unless my mother turns up after all.
Maeve Owens: NR: Oh? Where's she at?
YarnKittymon: LB: Back in Europe. I'm not sure she has the health to be galavanting across the world just to see a wedding.
Maeve Owens: NR: Oh thats too bad.
Quantum Catz: AR: I don't think i could imagine being so far away from mom
YarnKittymon: LB: ::smiles weakly:: Well, she moved first, and besides, she's married well enough that I don't need to worry about her anymore.
Quantum Catz: AR: But still... ::thinks of her father and glances slightly nervously at Jack for a moment, although quickly hides it::
YarnKittymon: LB: Well, come on; no sense in leaving our lunch on the table 'til it spoils, hm? ::leads them to the table::
Maeve Owens: NR: ::follows::
