2:45:06 PM maeveowens: ::the rude guard, or better known as Robertson, pulls a still bound Maeve in to the chapel where they are holding their mock trial.::

2:45:30 PM maeveowens: MV: ::She's tired, and is cringing every time Robertson pulls on her sore arms. Her eyes scan the small crowd that has gathered, searching for Isaac::

2:52:44 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::after travelling back to marquis, and everything that's happened since he got there, Isaac looks worse than he did when Josh first saw him.  His face his pale and he's been coughing a lot but he smiles reassuringly when he sees Maeve::

2:53:14 PM yarnkittymon: JH:  ::is next to his brother, squeezing his hand, rather worried for him::

2:54:38 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::there's a tall, thin man, pale like death, standing at the front of the room, wearing a black robe::

2:54:57 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she pales a bit when she sees how sick Isaac looks.::

2:55:58 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson jerks her down into a chair, making her wince, then sits down right beside her.::

2:58:55 PM quantumcatz: : ::the other guard moves to sit at her other side.  He hasn't been as rude to her, though he is pretty much treating it as if the trial has already happened and she's as good as dead::

3:00:12 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge nods, looking down at the group::  Guard Robertson, tell me what happened.

3:03:46 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson gets up, looking smug. He explains how they found the poor man knifed to death, then the trees smoking and the second victim, and then how he-they-quickly found the murderer and the weapon used::

3:04:26 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge turns to the other guard, asking him what he saw::

3:06:03 PM quantumcatz: : ::he agrees with the first guard and he also adds that they've yet to find the son of the first victim and they're concerned that something's happened to him too::

3:06:27 PM yarnkittymon: JH:  ::is very tense, not releasing his brother's hand::

3:08:08 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::runs a hand through his hair, worriedly; though he squeezes Josh's hand, trying to stay confident::

3:09:04 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she gets to her feet, angrily:: Except I've told the both of them that I do not know anything about the boy and his father!

3:09:21 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge frowns::  Wait your turn, Mrs. Kindall.

3:10:27 PM quantumcatz: : According to the guards in Marquis, she killed the guy's wife.  Not a stretch to think she might come after him

3:10:30 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson tugs Maeve back in to her seat::

3:11:08 PM maeveowens: MV: That was ruled as a self-defense! I had nothing against him!

3:11:26 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge frowns::  All right, Mrs. Kindall.  What do you claim happened?

3:12:12 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she swallows hard:: The man's wife killed root guy's daughter. That was revenge. I had nothing to do with it.

3:17:44 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge quietly says::  How do *you* claim the man died?

3:18:21 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she shrugs:: I told you. I don't know! I wasn't the one who killed him.

3:18:37 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge's eyes narrow::

3:20:15 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson smirks:: Then how did she come by the knife, your honor? She was carrying the weapon and was headed out of town with it.

3:20:38 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge says::  Mrs. Kindall?

3:22:35 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she winces:: The poison on the knife was used on my...sister-in-law... I was taking it back to Marquis to see if Mrs. Stowe could use it to find a cure.

3:25:54 PM yarnkittymon: :  Yet Mr. Taylor was found stabbed to death?

3:26:34 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she shrugs helplessly:: I don't know! I wasn't the one who killed him!

3:26:50 PM maeveowens: MV:: ::she cringes at the movement::

3:27:20 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge shakes his head::  That sounds implausible.

3:27:54 PM maeveowens: MV: It doesn't if root guy killed him before I had gotten there! I got the knife from him!

3:28:24 PM quantumcatz: : Whether she killed him or not, the death of Jeremy Hastings was certainly her.  And it was a barbaric death

3:29:53 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge looks at the guard::  But that's already been addressed in another court, correct?

3:31:55 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she turns to the other guard, glaring:: Tell that to my sister-in-law! He left her to suffer through a slow and painful death with his poisons!

3:34:01 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge frowns::  Then you should have gone to the guards at your home.

3:36:17 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she grunts:: First off, he left town so it is no longer their concern. Secondly, most of them are incompetent and the only one that isn't is off on his honeymoon.

3:36:42 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge frowns, having come up through the ranks of the guards himself::

3:37:42 PM quantumcatz: : We caught you, didn't we? Anyone who could do what you did to that man's arm so easily is a danger to everyone.

3:38:23 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::wants to speak up and fight for Maeve but he knows it may well only irritate the judge further::

3:38:33 PM maeveowens: MV: ::smirks:: Don't get too big of an ego. You just happened upon the right place at the right time and I wasn't quick enough to leave.

3:39:54 PM quantumcatz: : Don't mock us.  Would you burn me too if i gave you a chance? Melt my skin right to the bone to make me pay for keeping you locked up?

3:39:56 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge quietly says::  "The right place," you say.  Mrs. Kindall, you've done nothing to convince me you're innocent.  Quite the contrary.

3:41:52 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she pales a bit more:: I wont bother to deny that I took out...what did you call him? Hastings? But I didn't set out to murder him. We fought over the knife and I won.

3:41:55 PM maeveowens:  But I won't be railroaded in to taking the blame for the death of the other man!

3:43:05 PM quantumcatz: : You had probably won several minutes before you let go of him.  You didn't stop though

3:43:41 PM maeveowens: MV: He was alive when I left that clearing! And as soon as he dropped the knife I took it and left.

3:44:43 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge shakes his head::  As I said, it all sounds unlikely.

3:44:48 PM quantumcatz: : He suffered a heart attack as a result of his injuries not long after we got to him.  You left him to die

3:45:26 PM maeveowens: MV: He left Leyla to die. I needed to get back to her.

3:46:35 PM yarnkittymon: :  Regardless, you should have at least informed the guards of the situation, before you ran off to remedy it yourself.  Lives could have been saved.

3:46:55 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson doesn't seem to even be listening anymore. His head is bent towards Maeve and he's pretending to look over the reports that were made::

3:47:50 PM maeveowens: MV: ::angrily:: They would have just been killed! Just like your Mr. Taylor!

3:49:14 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge quietly says::  Someone as impulsive and murderous as yourself--and as powerful--can't be allowed to live.

3:49:18 PM yarnkittymon: JH:  ::gasps::

3:49:52 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::can't help but say:: No, please - she has a family!

3:50:53 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she pales even more:: I haven't murdered anyone! Hastings was barely a human being himself after what he's done! Leyla was pregnant! She wasn't the only innocent person he was killing!

3:51:24 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge shakes his head::  She will be sent back to Marquis so her family can be present if they wish.

3:51:32 PM yarnkittymon: JH:  ::shakes his head; whispers::  No...

3:52:48 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she blinks, completely stunned. She slowly turns to look back at Isaac::

3:53:05 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson comes out of his trance and smirks::

3:53:26 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge looks to the guards::  Prepare her for transport.  I'll prepare the paperwork.

3:53:40 PM quantumcatz: IS: Judge, please, there must be another way.  Our daughter was dying because of what he'd done

3:54:08 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she cringes and shakes her head:: Isaac don't...

3:54:16 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge shakes his head::  I'm sorry, but she's been wrapped up in too much.  She can't be trusted.

3:55:45 PM quantumcatz: IS: All she's ever done is try to protect the people she cares about

3:56:21 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::nods::  And that's not her job, sir.  ::nods to the guards::  Prepare her for transport, now.

3:56:57 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson takes Maeve's  arm again, dragging her to her feet:: Yes sir.

3:57:19 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she's too stunned to react and barely even winces at the pain that shoots through her arm at being pulled up again::

3:58:05 PM yarnkittymon: JH:  ::can't even bring himself to stand::

3:58:52 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::stands up, trying to get closer to Maeve:: Maeve...

3:59:19 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she tries to take a step towards him, whispers:: Isaac

4:03:25 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson tugs her back, eliciting a small cry from Maeve finally:: Murderers do not get visiting rights. ::he pulls her away::

4:03:34 PM yarnkittymon: :  ::the judge turns away, going to write his orders::

4:04:07 PM quantumcatz: : ::holds Isaac back, sayign softly:: You must have known it would come to this one day.  With her history

4:05:56 PM quantumcatz: IS: She doesn't deserve to die for this.  She was trying to protect her family

4:08:45 PM maeveowens: : ::Robertson smirks:: The judge has made his decision. It's too late for you to do anything. Go home.

4:10:12 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she almost struggles to move, but the pain in her arms still her. She looks at the other guard, pleadingly:: You can at least let me say goodbye.

4:13:58 PM quantumcatz: : I'm sure none of your victims were allowed to say goodbye

4:15:11 PM maeveowens: MV: ::she looks as if he'd just struck her. Her eyes dart to Isaac but she doesn't have the chance to say anything before she's yanked out the door::

4:19:26 PM quantumcatz: IS: ::looks as if he's been struck as well and falls back into a seat, covering his face with his hands::
