YarnKittymon: TY: ::comes home from Gate Town on his bicycle as it's starting to get dark in town--having finished decorating the nursery he had added to the second floor of his house, he's been working for a man building a small amusement park just outside of Gate Town--a rather ludicrous venture, but Toby's enjoying building the rather unusual-looking roller coaster cars, though the whole thing reminds him a bit of Coney Island, which makes him nostalgic--even so, he's started to hope that his new life with Lu and their child can bring him happiness::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::rides back up to his house and goes inside, a bit surprised that the lights are out; turns one on, looking around the ground floor:: Lu?
Maeve Owens: ::Nothing sturs inside the house, it remains deathly quiet::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::checks the refrigerator and kitchen table for a note from Lu, and finding none, goes upstairs, turning on the lights:: Lu? ::listens carefully for a response::
Maeve Owens: ::no response, just a lingering cold, empty feeling of a lonely house::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::frowns, looking through each room before leaving the house and going towards the clothes stores, asking several of the passers-by if they've seen Lu::
Maeve Owens: : ::Mrs. Caradson approaches him, she gives him a sympathetic smile as she points towards the doctor's office:: I saw her just a little while ago as I was leaving. I hope everythings okay. She's been visiting Dr. Manner a lot lately
Maeve Owens: ::she looks as if she could continue on about the gossip of the town if he'd let her::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::nods once to Mrs. Caradson, and then turns around and goes to the doctor's office, not wholly surprised Lu had a checkup, but wondering why she'd be there this late at night; knocks on the doctor's door::
Maeve Owens: FM: ::he opens the door without even checking to see who it is. Before he can school in his emotions, a brief flash of guilt washes over his features but within seconds his Doctor's mask is in place.:: Hey Toby, come on in. Lu's inside.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::nods, looking closely at Floyd as he comes in:: Is everything OK?
Maeve Owens: FM: ::he gives nothing away as he points to the uncomfortable looking chairs in the foyer:: Please, sit down.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::eyes widen; he glances at the chairs and then grabs Floyd's arm, looking straight at him:: Don't pull this doctor's stuff on me, Floyd. What's wrong?
Maeve Owens: FM: ::his expression turns grim:: She lost the baby Toby, there was nothing we could do. I'm sorry. She's in there resting now. ::his held tilts in the direction of the examining room::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::is silent for a couple seconds, then, very quickly:: When'd it happen? Where is it?
Maeve Owens: FM: She came in around noon and it happened not long after that.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::pulls Floyd closer:: Where's the baby?
Maeve Owens: FM: ::attempts to loosen Toby's grip on him:: Calm down Toby, what was there of the baby has been... taken away.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::doesn't let go of Floyd, and Floyd might feel a weird sensation where Toby's touching him, not painful, but kind of tickly:: *Where*? I want to see it!
Maeve Owens: FM: ::shakes his head:: Theres nothing you could have done for it Toby. Its gone. Your wife on the other hand *needs* you right now. ::he barely hides the smirk that threatens to grace his features at the mention of the woman's name
Maeve Owens: ::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::his eyes rather wild:: How do you know I couldn't've helped?
Maeve Owens: FM: Women tend to miscarry when the baby wont be able to fully develope or has died. ::sighs, shaking his head again::
YarnKittymon: TY: You don't *understand.* I could develop it, if maybe its soul's still hanging around. ::almost yelling:: Where *is* it?
Maeve Owens: FM: ::calmly:: The fetus had not formed right, there was nothing there for a ::cringes:: soul to live in. What was there has already been taken care of.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::makes his hand into a fist, narrowing his eyes at Floyd; in a low and dangerous voice:: You didn't just say he doesn't have a soul.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::her voice sounds small and scared as it filters through the office walls:: Toby?
YarnKittymon: TY: ::lowers his fist, tears stinging his eyes; he quickly blinks and stalks back to Lu's room, looking rather hopeless::
Maeve Owens: FM: ::he sighs, shaking his head yet again and goes to prepare the paperwork; muttering.:: If you have any more questions I'll be at my desk.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::her green eyes are wide and swimming with tears as she sees Toby entering her room, her voice breaks as she tries to speak:: I'm sorry Toby... ::she breaks down into what seems like endless sobs::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::walks quickly to her side and puts his arms around Lu, rubbing her back::
Maeve Owens: LU: ::wraps her arms around him, clinging to him as tight as she can:: I'm sorry... you must hate me...
YarnKittymon: TY: ::leans close to Lu; softly:: No; of course not...
Maeve Owens: LU: ::weakly:: I want to go home. Can I go home now?
YarnKittymon: TY: ::still holding her; softly:: If the doctor says it's OK.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::snuggles up against him, peering up at him with fearful eyes:: Are you going to leave me now? ::her bottom lip quivers and the tears start anew. Her hand returns to her stomach where her child should still be growing::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::puts his hand on Lu's; softly:: I promised 'til death do us part.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::nods, clinging to him once more::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::holds her silently, not knowing any words to comfort her, and not entirely trusting himself to keep his voice steady, either::
Maeve Owens: FM: ::coughs, looking rather perplexed at the scene before:: Mrs... Hamilton can leave whenever she likes. Take your time. ::he turns on his heels and leaves quickly::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::runs a hand over Lu's hair; softly:: You heard him, honey.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::nods, her voice still sounding tired and scared:: I'm ready.
YarnKittymon: TY: ::nods, pulling the blankets off Lu and picking her up in his arms, nearly staggering under her weight, but managing to keep his balance; carefully takes her out of the room::
Maeve Owens: LU: ::she wraps her arms around his neck and tucks her head against his shoulder::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::has some trouble opening the door of his house but somehow manages it; doesn't speak::
Maeve Owens: LU: ::she stays silent also, enjoying being carried in his arms::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::takes Lu upstairs to their bedroom, which is now there; he takes the steps one at a time and doesn't fall::
Maeve Owens: LU: ::softly:: I was thinking... Katelyn would be a pretty name for a girl... dont you think? ::one hand slides down to her flat stomach::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::very softly, as he lays Lu down on the bed:: Was it a girl?
Maeve Owens: LU: ::nods, reaching for him so he'd lay down with her::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::lays down beside her:: They should've buried her.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::sadly, she cuddles up next to him, closing her eyes:: Just hold me... please?
YarnKittymon: TY: ::puts an arm around Lu, drawing her near; softly:: It'll be all right.
Maeve Owens: LU: ::after a few seconds she starts to cry again, her small body shaking slightly::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::still holds Lu, not telling her not to cry or trying to comfort her, just being there for her::
YarnKittymon: TY: ::lays in bed silently at least half an hour after Lu's asleep, but when he's sure she is, he sneaks out of bed and tiptoes to the already-decorated room that was to be the baby's nursery. When he gets there he sinks down into its rocking chair, rests his arms and head on his knees, and just cries::
